Lunch with Leonardo

Up early and heading out for the two museums. It has been overly hot for this time of the year, so we decided to take a cab down to see the Leonardo Di Vinci Last Supper.
The harrowing cab ride complete with near miss of hitting pedestrians led to an exchange of verbal altercations with the lady on the street. At least once we gasped for fear he was going to hit someone, so it is best not to look.

We asked for directions and were led astray. Once we arrived at the Leonardo exhibit, we sat on the bench and awaited for our allotted time. A group of 15 of us were led to the air conditioning room with the English speaking guide.

The brillant Leonardo Di Vinci made the painting of the last supper to be life like. It took 3 years to create this masterpiece. On the other side of the room was his painting of the Crucifixion of Christ. That body of work only took one year.

We stopped at local bistro for lunch and then headed out towards the Duomo. This magnificient cathedral was beyond words. The hand carved statues and reliefs are have such detail you have to stop to look up and admire the craftsmanship.

Back at the hotel in the lobby was where we gathered for the social hour. We met a couple from Carlsbad,California. Conversation was exciting since we found someone who we could converse with. We discovered we had a lot in common.

We must have walked a long ways as we slept 12 hours.
